Of course, the implementation of the Regulation is mandatory to get access to the European market but REACH provides also an impressive database for other jurisdictions. This means that all the data generated under REACH could be used by other countries and there are already ongoing discussions between ECHA and other regions in the world. Similar legislations flourish in other countries such as US or China. This means that the experience gained in Europe in the past years and in the coming ones will be valuable in the future.
Following the REACH Seminar organized in Washington D.C. in April, the Nickel REACH Consortia and the Nickel Institute have organised a 1/2 day Nickel Consortia REACH Seminar followed by a 1/2 day O&C and OEL Discussions and a one-day Nickel Science Workshop covering recent developments on the Human Health and Environmental science of nickel, in Singapore in June 2011.
